tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4979545333979747089.post2458539568004314267..comments2024-03-01T06:33:20.145-07:00Comments on The Running Man: You just have to believe / Training week 7/13-7/19Wyatt Hornsbyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14224514798393011001noreply@blogger.comBlogger5125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4979545333979747089.post-26877208888761364462009-07-27T14:07:06.178-06:002009-07-27T14:07:06.178-06:00i like those stories. i'm living that somewha...i like those stories. i'm living that somewhat on a smaller scale, having run my first 10k last september, prepping for my first half at the end of august, and already hatching plan to run my first marathon next spring ... and maybe even set a goal to qualify for boston before i turn 40 (7 yrs from now). i've dropped 25 lbs in less than a year without really intending to do so ... but the biggest transformation is in how i view myself. i could never imagine myself as someone who would roll out of bed at 5:00 on a weekend morning and run 14 miles (as i did last sunday) but there you have it. imagining yourself in that position is sometimes the hardest thing to do. plus, it always brings a smile to my face when my 2-year old son sees me wearing my running clothes and says "daddy going runnin'." so i know i'm already setting a positive example for him. my wife keeps telling me she's "amazed" by what i'm doing - but in my mind, i'm not doing anything amazing ... just doing the same thing over and over again! which takes discipline, but no super-human abilities. cuz if i can do it, believe me, anyone can.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4979545333979747089.post-28035805582856799002009-07-26T17:40:28.441-06:002009-07-26T17:40:28.441-06:00Great stuff!
