Masterfully done Jamil, congrats on an amazing film!

Gretta Hewson
Leviton ReceptaclesAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11667358305955456153noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4979545333979747089.post-69686047454640510832017-07-03T13:08:28.559-06:002017-07-03T13:08:28.559-06:00Peter: Agree that it'll be interesting to watc...Peter: Agree that it'll be interesting to watch Jim at UTMB, a race where there are usually a fair number of runners going hard out of the gate. As for Anton, let's not forget that he won Leadville in 2006 and 2007. He got it right at Leadville well before he started really chasing the CR. Not so with Jim. Jim needs to win Western States first. I think at a race like WS you let the CR come to you instead of chasing it. Many just couldn't understand why he didn't slow down, knowing that he could have still competed for the win even though the CR was out of reach. Every entrant in these events has different ambitions, whether it is to simply finish, finish with a buckle, make the top ten or the podium, and in the super stretch-goal case, get the CR. It's difficult to fault anyone for having the confidence and fitness to take down the CR. It will be interesting to watch JW at UTMB where he has a more modest goal of a top-5 finish, and where he will perhaps be running *behind* a few runners during portions of the race instead of the long isolated solo's off the front like he's had to do over the past twelve months.Peterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09025866891565696396noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4979545333979747089.post-41722341097399687972017-06-28T05:06:27.747-06:002017-06-28T05:06:27.747-06:00Great added perspective. My friends and I were there observing it all first hand, and I have to say - after his URP podcast I was of the opinion he was overly arrogant on such a public forum, and that he got his just desserts for all aspects of his approach. However, I can hold my hands up and say I was way wrong - after meeting him on the Sunday (in a brewery, where he was nursing just one beer!). It was inescapable that he's a real good dude, with real compassion and respect for others - and that guy that comes across on interview is just one mindfuck of an alter ego. I do hope he reaches out to those close to him, and battles through his current funk (like whatever led to that iRunFar display), and continues to learn and improve as a pro athlete. Being out in the San Juans with cool folks should sort his head out :) Lindsay Hamoudihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07088408189917662025noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4979545333979747089.post-57136854878781429452017-06-27T10:07:25.673-06:002017-06-27T10:07:25.673-06:00That's what makes sport so compelling; risk ta...That's what makes sport so compelling; risk takers that over commit and then somehow live up to that faith and surprise everyone, including themselves.
